Items We Cannot Store
What cannot be stored in our self-storage units
Thank you for choosing our self-storage facility. To keep your belongings - and those of all our customers - safe and secure, certain items are not permitted on our premises. Please read this policy carefully before storing with us.
If you are unsure whether an item is acceptable, please speak to a member of our team before bringing it in. We are always happy to help.
1. Prohibited Items - Strictly Not Permitted
The following items are strictly prohibited under all circumstances. Storing any of these items may result in immediate termination of your agreement and may be reported to the relevant authorities.

- Explosives, fireworks, ammunition, or firearms (unless legally registered and declared)
- Flammable or combustible liquids - petrol, diesel, oil, paint, solvents, or cleaning chemicals
- Compressed gases - propane, butane, acetylene, or any pressurised cylinders
- Toxic, radioactive, biological, or hazardous materials of any kind
- Illegal substances, controlled drugs, or any items obtained illegally
- Stolen goods or items subject to legal dispute or seizure
- Live animals, birds, reptiles, or any living creatures
- Perishable food, plants, or any organic matter that may decay or attract pests
- Cash, bearer bonds, jewellery, or high-value uninsured items (unless declared and insured)
- Weapons, including knives, swords, or replica firearms (unless legally held and declared)
2. Excluded Items - Not Suitable for Storage
The items below are not strictly illegal but are unsuitable for storage with us due to safety, hygiene, or operational reasons. We reserve the right to refuse storage of these items.
⚠️ These items are not accepted in standard storage units
- Tyres (in large quantities - check with us for limits)
- Asbestos-containing materials or other regulated building waste
- Medical waste, sharps, or clinical/biohazard materials
- Electrical items in poor repair or with damaged cables
- Wet, damp, or mouldy items that may cause damage to other stored goods
- Items with strong or persistent odours that may affect other customers
3. Items Accepted Under Certain Conditions
Some items may be stored with prior agreement, a suitable unit type, or appropriate documentation. Please contact us in advance if you plan to store any of the following.
✅ Accepted with conditions or prior arrangement
- Vehicles (cars, vans), stored after fuel tank drained and only minimal fuel held.
- Valuable items (art, antiques, collectibles): stored at owner's risk - adequate insurance is strongly advised
- Business stock and inventory: welcome, but hazardous goods must be declared in advance
- Fragile or temperature-sensitive items: available in climate-controlled units - please ask our team
4. Your Responsibilities
By storing with us, you agree to:
- Ensure all stored items comply with this policy at all times
- Inform our team immediately if you become aware that stored goods no longer comply
- Accept that we may inspect units where there is reasonable cause for concern
- Take out appropriate insurance for your stored items - we strongly recommend this
- Understand that we accept no liability for items stored in breach of this policy
